Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MyStarling parent application and the website my.starlinginternationalschool.edu.in (collectively, the “Application”), operated by Starling International School (“the School”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By accessing or using the Application, you (“you”, the “parent” or “guardian”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By logging in to or using the Application, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply in addition to, and are read together with, the School’s rules, circulars and fee policies in force from time to time.

2. Eligibility

• You must be the parent or legal guardian of a student currently enrolled at the School, or a person duly authorised by such parent/guardian.
• You must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract under applicable law.
• Access to the Application is limited to registered parents/guardians whose mobile number is recorded with the School.

3. Account & Login

Access to the parent portal is secured through a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your mobile device and OTP confidential and for all activity carried out under your login. Please notify the School immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access. The School is not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your login credentials.

4. Use of the Application

The Application is provided for legitimate school-related purposes only, including to:

• View your child’s attendance and dispersal (pickup/exit) information;
• Receive attendance, safety, fee and notice alerts;
• Generate escort/pickup authorisation where enabled by the School;
• Make online fee payments and view payment receipts.

You agree not to misuse the Application, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Online Fee Payment

• Fee amounts, due dates and any applicable late fee are set by the School and displayed in the Application.
• Online payments are processed through our third-party payment gateway, Razorpay (in association with HDFC Bank). By making a payment you also agree to the payment gateway’s terms.
• Your card, UPI or net-banking credentials are entered on the gateway’s secure page and are not stored by the School. The School records only the transaction reference, amount and status.
• A payment is treated as successful only upon confirmation from the payment gateway. If an amount is debited but not confirmed, it is normally reversed automatically by the gateway/bank as per their timelines.
• You are responsible for ensuring the correct fee/student is selected before making a payment.

6. Refunds & Cancellations

• Fees paid to the School are governed by the School’s fee and refund policy in force. As a general rule, fees paid are non-refundable except where expressly provided by the School.
• In the case of a duplicate payment or a payment made in error, please contact the School office with the transaction details; verified duplicate/erroneous payments will be refunded to the original payment source.
• Any approved refund is credited only to the account/card/instrument from which the original payment was made, through the payment gateway. Applicable gateway/transaction charges may not be refundable.

7. Third-Party Services

The Application uses trusted third-party services — including the Razorpay/HDFC payment gateway, a WhatsApp messaging provider for alerts, and web push notification services — solely to deliver the School’s services to you. Your use of those services may additionally be subject to the respective provider’s terms and policies.

8. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and current information and keep your registered mobile number updated with the School.
• Use the Application only in respect of your own child(ren)/ward(s).
• Do not share, copy or misuse any data, notice or communication received through the Application.
• Comply with all applicable laws and the School’s policies while using the Application.

9. Intellectual Property

The Application, including its design, content, logos, and the “MyStarling” name, is the property of the School or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the Application without prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Application is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we take reasonable steps to keep it accurate and available, the School shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the Application, or from any delay, error or interruption in third-party services (including the payment gateway or messaging provider), to the extent permitted by law.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Application is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect your information.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update, change or modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect from the date of update, and the revised “Last updated” date will be shown above. Your continued use of the Application after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at West Bengal, India.
